1Getting in Everyone

Accept your invitation, sign in with the emailed code, an authenticator app or single sign-on, and reset a forgotten password.

mapzaa has no public sign-up. Accounts are only ever created by accepting an emailed invitation, so the first thing that happens is that someone invites you — either us, setting up your municipality's first administrator, or an administrator already in your organisation.

Accepting your invitation

  1. Open the invitation email and follow the link. It is good for 72 hours; if yours has expired, ask whoever invited you to resend it — that is one click for them.
  2. Your email address is shown but fixed. Add your name so colleagues and the audit trail know who you are, then choose a password of at least 10 characters.
  3. Complete the checkbox that proves you are not a bot, then press Activate account.
  4. You are signed straight in. There is no code to enter this time — the link already proved the address reaches you, and you chose the password in that same step.

The link is used up on first open. mapzaa takes the token out of the address bar immediately, so it never lands in your history or in a screenshot. If you close the tab before finishing, open the emailed link again.

Signing in after that

  1. Enter your email and password at Log in.
  2. mapzaa emails you a 6-digit code. Type it into Verification code — the form submits itself on the sixth digit, so your phone's one-time-code autofill completes it for you.
  3. The code lasts 10 minutes and allows 5 attempts. Past either, use Resend code and start the step again.

If you have set up an authenticator app, the second step asks for the code it shows instead, and nothing is emailed. See Two-step verification.

At your organisation's own address

Some organisations have their own address for mapzaa, such as umea.mapzaa.com, with their logo on the sign-in page. If yours does, your invitation and any password-reset link take you there, and only your organisation's people can sign in at it. See Sign-in address and logo.

With single sign-on

If your organisation signs in through its own identity provider — Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace and the like — press Sign in with single sign-on on your organisation's sign-in page, or use the sign-in link your administrator gives you. There is no emailed code, because your identity provider has already checked that it is you.

If single sign-on is required for your account, accepting your invitation asks for no password: it ends at your organisation's sign-in instead. See Single sign-on.

Forgotten password

Use Forgot password? on the login page. We email a link that lets you set a new one; it works for one hour.

A reset signs you out everywhere. Setting a new password from a reset link ends every other session on that account — useful if you think someone else has it. Changing your password from Settings › Account does not, because you are already signed in there.
