5Photos and history Everyone
Add photos to an asset, and see everything that has happened to it.
Under the form, every saved asset's panel holds two things that are not part of the form: its photos and its history. Neither waits for Save — a photo is added or deleted the moment you do it.
Photos
- Open the asset and press + Add photo. On a phone you can take one there and then; on a computer, choose files — several at once is fine.
- Each photo is made smaller on your device before it is sent, so a large camera photo uploads quickly even on a weak connection. The location and camera details stored inside the file are left behind on the way.
- Press a thumbnail to see it full size, and swipe or use the arrows to go through the rest. Delete photo is in the same view.
An asset can hold 12 photos, and an organisation 500 MB of them in all. Everyone in your organisation can see them; field workers, editors and administrators can add them. Editors and administrators can delete any photo, a field worker only the ones they added. A new asset has to be saved before it can have photos.
History
History lists everything that has happened to the asset, newest first, each with who did it and when: when it was added, every edit with the old and the new value, bulk edits, photos added and removed, and each maintenance plan completed that covered it. The latest five are shown; Show all opens the rest.
The history lasts as long as the asset does. That is the difference from the audit log, which covers the whole organisation and is cleared after 180 days. Positions reported through the API are not recorded, or a tracked vehicle would bury everything else.
