Terms of service

These terms govern your use of mapzaa. They are written to be read rather than skimmed past — if any of it is unclear, email [email protected] and we will explain it.

Version 1.0 · In force from 17 September 2026

1. Who we are

mapzaa is provided by Sverige Analytics AB, a limited company registered in Sweden under registration number 559538-4917, with its registered office in Umeå, Sweden. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean Sverige Analytics AB; "you" means the organisation that uses mapzaa, and everyone using it under that organisation's account.

You can reach us at [email protected].

2. The service

mapzaa is a hosted register of physical assets — bins, benches, lamp posts, signs, trees and whatever else you choose to record — presented as a map and as a searchable table. It is provided over the web at dashboard.mapzaa.com. There is nothing to install.

mapzaa is a record-keeping tool. It is not a statutory inspection system, an emergency reporting channel or a safety-critical system. Your legal duties regarding the assets you maintain remain yours, and you should not rely on mapzaa as the only means of discharging them.

3. Accounts and invitations

  • Accounts exist inside an organisation, which is normally one municipality or authority. There is no public sign-up: we create your organisation and invite its first administrator, who invites everyone else.
  • Each account belongs to one named person and must not be shared. Sign-in requires a password and a one-time code sent to the account's email address, so whoever controls that mailbox can reach the account — keep it secure and tell us at once if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • An organisation's administrators decide who is invited, who may change the register and who may only read it. You are responsible for what the people you invite do in your organisation.
  • Invitation links expire after 72 hours and can be re-sent by any administrator.

4. Your data

Everything you put into mapzaa — your categories, field definitions, assets, locations, descriptions and saved views — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it and we do not sell it, pool it between organisations or use it to train anything. We store and process it in order to provide the service to you, and for no other purpose.

Each organisation's data is separated at the database level, so one organisation's register is not reachable from another's account. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

You can ask us for a copy of your organisation's data, in a machine-readable format, at any time and at no charge.

5. Acceptable use

When using mapzaa you agree not to:

  • use it unlawfully, or to record data you have no lawful basis to hold;
  • attempt to reach another organisation's data, or any part of the system you have not been granted access to;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission — if you find a vulnerability, tell us at [email protected] and we will thank you for it;
  • place a load on the service that degrades it for others, including by automated scraping or bulk requests outside the published interface;
  • resell or sublicense access to the service without our agreement.

6. Limits

Each organisation has a limit on the number of assets it may hold and the number of seats it may fill; the defaults are 1,000 assets and 5 seats. Open invitations count against the seat limit until they are accepted or expire. Tell us what you need and we will raise the limits — there is no charge for doing so while the service is free.

7. Price and payment

mapzaa is currently free to use. No payment details are collected, there is no minimum term and you are under no obligation to continue.

If we later introduce a charge, we will tell every organisation administrator by email at least 30 days beforehand, and no charge will ever begin without a separate written agreement from you. If you would rather not continue on new terms, you may stop using the service and take your data with you.

8. Availability and support

We aim to keep mapzaa available and working, and we look after it as if our own municipality depended on it — but we do not offer a service level agreement unless we have agreed one with you in writing. Maintenance, updates and occasional faults may interrupt the service.

Support is by email at [email protected]. We answer within two working days and usually much sooner.

9. Suspension and ending the agreement

  • You may stop using mapzaa at any time. Ask us and we will delete your organisation and everything in it.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 5, or that we are legally required to act on. Where circumstances allow, we will contact you first.
  • We may discontinue the service by giving organisation administrators at least 60 days written notice, so that there is time to export everything.
  • When an organisation ends, we keep its data for 30 days so that a mistake can be undone, then delete it permanently. Ask us and we will delete it sooner.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law permits, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what is described on this site.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or loss arising from decisions taken on the basis of records in the register. Our total liability to you, for all claims taken together in any twelve month period, is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period — which, while mapzaa is free, is nil.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under Swedish law, and nothing here affects rights you have under mandatory law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For anything material we will email every organisation administrator at least 30 days beforehand and update the version and date at the top of this page. Continuing to use mapzaa after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you may end the agreement under section 9.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes are to be settled by the Swedish courts, with Umeå District Court (Umeå tingsrätt) as the court of first instance — unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
