11Exporting the register Everyone
Download what the table shows as CSV, GeoJSON or KML — for a spreadsheet, a GIS or a contractor.
Export downloads the rows the table is currently showing, in the sort order you put them in, with the columns you have switched on. Filter first, then export, and the file is the answer to the question rather than a dump to clean up afterwards.
- Filter and sort the table, and choose its columns.
- Press Export and choose a format: CSV for spreadsheets such as Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, GeoJSON for GIS and web maps such as QGIS or ArcGIS, or KML for Google Earth and Google My Maps.
- If you have ticked rows in the table, choose between all the matching assets and only the selected ones.
- Press Download. The format you chose is remembered for next time.
In GeoJSON and KML every asset is a point at its real location, with the columns as its properties. The CSV opens correctly in Excel, including addresses with accented characters, and a cell a spreadsheet could take for a formula is written so that it can't run as one.
Reading is not writing, so exporting is open to every role, viewers included.
